Our Services

SunCrest Alpacas is proud to provide the following services. Many of our services are available at significant savings to SunCrest Members -- individuals who purchase alpacas from our herd; some services are limited by proximity to our ranch.

Breeding: We can help you decide when to breed your alpacas and how to selectively breed for the results you want. We can also facilitate breeding for you.

Shearing: We shear our animals each spring. Others are welcome to bring their alpacas to our ranch for shearing; fees apply.

Training: We are happy to share updates on training methods, new techniques and personal observations of the SunCrest Staff with those who purchase animals from our herd.

We’ll keep you informed of upcoming seminars that will be held periodically to assist you in the transformation of your herd. Join us to hear from local vets, WSU vets, and our staff who specialize in various aspects of alpaca ranching.

Ranch setup: When you purchase Alpacas from the SunCrest Ranch, one of our staff will accompany you to your property to assess your current needs for securing your animals on your property. We will also prepare an estimate of materials costs for you. Setup will include one half acre per two animals purchased. If you want to incorporate additional acreage, charges for labor and equipment beyond one half acre per two animals will be negotiated separately.

Your animals can be boarded at SunCrest Ranch free of charge for up to two weeks beginning on the first day of your ranch setup. If you will be doing the setup on your own, we will do a complimentary assessment to get you on the right track.
Materials include:
  • Posts (wood/metal)
  • Concrete mix (optional)
  • Fencing
  • Fencing staples
  • Gates/Panels
  • Shelter (barn, loafing shed, covered tent)
  • Water troughs/buckets
  • Feed bowls/troughs
  • Hay feeders
  • Gate Hinges
  • Gate latche
Boarding: Any Alpacas you buy from the SunCrest ranch, as well as any offspring they produce, will be welcomed back at the SunCrest ranch at any time for any length of time for boarding. Since we at SunCrest Alpacas know all of our animals’ histories, we can incorporate them back into our heard with confidence. This puts you at ease knowing that you don’t have to be tied down to your alpacas 365 days a year. You can feel free to go on vacation with your family with the peace of mind that your investment is being given the highest priority.

Tired of the daily routine but still want to enjoy the financial benefits of owning alpacas? Not a problem. Let us board your animals for a minimal fee. Family emergency? Give us a call and we will be happy to lighten the load of responsibility until you get back on track.

We have the capabilities to transport your alpacas back and forth between your pasture and the SunCrest pasture.

Transport: Transportation fees are based on current Washington State mileage rates.

Sales: We buy and sell alpacas, and can help you sell your alpacas, or board them at our ranch and advertise them for you. Fees are based on your needs.

Processing Fleece: We can send the fiber from your alpacas for processing into yarn and help facilitate its sale to distributors. Combining the fiber from our animals and our members’ animals can result in a better price and increased marketability.

Complete animal history and records: We maintain pedigree records and history on each alpacas in our herd. This information is transferred to the new owners upon purchase of an animal
